About The Training Facility @ SHC
Southington Hunt Club (SHC) Training Facility offers an unlimited variety of unique shooting and training solutions. Our range is currently utilized by nationally-known firearms instructors, law enforcement agencies, federal agencies, military units, manufacturers, and civilian organizations. Our training facility boasts multi-purpose, live fire ranges, rural and urban combat training areas, ranges designed for mounted and dismounted operations and areas for waterborne or high-angle operations.
Ranges & Training Areas Include
• 6 multi-purpose small arms ranges (25-350 yards, rated up
to .50 caliber machinegun).
• 350 yard live fire, vehicle maneuver area for mounted/dismounted operations.
• 700 yard range for movement to contact/react to contact.
• 700 yard known/unknown distance range.
• Urban combat training area with adjacent helicopter landing zones.
• 1,200 acre mounted and dismounted training area and off-road drivers training.
• 40 acre lake and cliffs for waterborne or high angle operations and marksmanship.
• 2,500 square foot covered classroom and 500 square foot indoor classroom
with kitchen.
• Male & female bathroom & shower facilities, unit lodging, camping
& RV campsites w/ electrical hookup.
• Within close proximity to regional airports and commercial lodging.
SHC Training Facility is open to the public on dates specified on the CALENDAR. We currently do not offer public range time on any other days of the week. ALL GUESTS MUST CHECK IN AT THE CABIN or RO on duty at the 700 YARD RANGE.
